Re: What Happened to the Yarn
Okay, it will be interesting to see how Diana gets her back by sewing her a dress. Or perhaps she's going to be the more mature of the two and offer the dress as a peace offering?

They were a crowd of high school girls.
I saw what you did there.

Re: What Happened to the Yarn
Wow another unexpected twist, both related to Diana. First of all, she doesn't seem to be that big of an air head as I thought as she is talking about her debts (probably mom's good yarn) needed to be payed back. And the desire to sew Alice a dress... I have no clue where this is going. Seems to me that Diana's passion is stronger than I imagined, she's expressing her emotions through it. Something to stress out her sneakiness and intelligence?

Maybe, but among a crowd of at least 20, you'd THINK that there would be one or two with thicker skin/fur/scales/feathers than the rest.
That, or high school has gotten MUCH worse since I finished it in 1988.
Oh, wait, a PUBLIC school, that makes sense now.

Diana has a plan! :-) Now, will it be a straight, nice gesture; or something to shame Alice?

I think I smell a fashion show in the future.

Also, since we're all just in a naming mood.
The three girls who wanted to buy a dress are called:
Tammy the Toad
Berniece the Bear
Karen the Koala
Because I can.

I think one's a frog, one's a bear and the other a weasel. The girl with the earrings has a tail too long to be a bear.

And poor Louis is left wondering why the left fielder is throwing things at him. He's not even on base.

Go with gold. It goes well with both black and red.

No! Lou! Don't do it! For the love of all things Drama, don't do it! Oh, that poor well meaning and completely oblivious ungulate...
What is he going to do? I honestly don't really know, but whatever it is can't possibly end well for him.

Re: What Happened to the Yarn
I'm thinking he's going to talk to Alice. Just how or what he would say puzzles me. He's leaving in a good mood and doesn't seem to hold any hard feelings for her like Diana does, but his suggestions for colors seems to say he knows how Diana feels for her and isn't arguing with it. So many things there could be...
Also, green trim, to go with envy. I would look nice with her fur and would go well with translucent, pearlescent fabric.

I'm glad to see that Diana can get her anger and frustration out by being creative and productive. That's a really good quality to have.

Does it really look like Louis is offering the color suggestions? I'd hoped by having no tail it would show Diana was still talking without having to have a long white slice across Louis's torso ^^;

I have to admit that I also thought Louis was suggesting colors to her at first, until he asked to be excused in the last panel. It didn't quite flow with him also offering suggestion on colors, and after re-reading it, I realized that it was Diana still talking.
Also, that particular word bubble also felt more like friendly advice during the first read-through, rather than Diana thinking out loud.

Re: What Happened to the Yarn
So I just noticed that Diana is left handed...
Also, on Lou offering color suggestions, I read that panel as it was intended, however I can see where others might get confused. Perhaps if the bubble were moved over Diana's left elbow and given a tail? You might also try giving it a 'reverse' tail, but that usually implies someone talking from off panel and could just create more confusion.
Or leave it as is.

Ah, I can see that more now. It really is because of placement. Being that close to a character, tail or no, can be read as that character talking. It might come from how many comics I've read, though... Some comic artist forget them or add them wrong, even big name companies, and some comics like Daredevil have a habit of having long trails of bubbles with no tails which just follows two people talking, so I tend to look more at placement over tails. I'm sorry! ._.

Re: What Happened to the Yarn
So; is Louis about to do something ...interesting? :-)
On the previous strip, I agree with Trevor; on first read-thru I thought Louis was talking, but it seemed wrong and on a second reading it was obviously Diana continuing.

Not only are they mmmmmmmbananas, but they are self righteous bananas.
I know I hate them, but the plot cannot do without them. Once the arc is done, I'm warming up the moon cannon.

Moon cannon?
"One of these days, Alice! One of these days!"
*wonders if anybody will get the reference*
