I wouldn't have thought to draw that parallel between Vikki and Betty. It's true that Vikki can come on a little strong when she's excited or meeting a cute guy, but it's not Betty strong. Less marketing/sales talk, for one...

Mr. Ed raised a good point--in all likelihood, Betty is nervous about intruding on Ronnie's relationship with her dad. Ronnie's dad was also nervous, apparently! That's a double whammy because it can both feed Betty's nerves (she sees him worrying and that could cue her to believe there's something to worry about) and motivate her to try to assuage her significant other's concerns. I think some of it is just Betty being Betty, though. That's not such a bad thing; I've met multiple people who come across as both earnest and highly peppy. Interacting with them for long stretches can get overwhelming, but at least they mean well (as Vikki pointed out regarding Betty). I can't help but like people who mean well... even if they make me want to hide somewhere quiet, sometimes.

For those who don't know, Ronnie and Vikki's first meeting is an exclusive printed story arc in Volume One. Vikki summarized it perfectly in this page.

Thanks! I do like working with traditional media - it'd be fun to do another arc with them in the future.
The pen itself still draws, but it fell onto the hardwood floor - this jammed its' select button, so it constantly clicks when I don't want it too. >.< I tried way too long to make it work before deciding to draw the page with pens instead. Fortunately, I'll be getting a new pen soon!

Heh. In Ronnie's place, I'd have definitely come to the conclusion that Betty was a genuinely nice person, but lacking in some social skills and possibly a few brain cells. Annoying to be around, but not something to get upset about, and if she makes her dad happy, more power to him.

That said, I'd love to see an arc done in traditional media. I'm a sucker for traditional, but can't imagine it's very easy on the schedule.

Yikes! Way to go, Betty! I think you just managed two of what Ronnie probably considers putdowns in one sentence. 1 - Ronnie probably has higher aspirations than being just a "PE teacher". 2 - I seriously doubt she wants to be considered a "cute" PE teacher!

No; I do not intend this as a put-down to real PE teachers! I'm just trying to tell what I suspect Ronnie feels Betty's pronouncement means.

The original Playboy Club chain closed its last American location (in Lansing, Michigan) in 1988, and the last international location (in Manila) closed in 1991. They opened a new location in Las Vegas in 2006, but that also closed in 2012. Supposedly, they were going to open a new club in New York City in 2017 -- there were a bunch of news articles about it last year -- but I can't find anything saying it's actually open for business; the hotel it was going to be located at still shows it as "coming soon" on its web site.

Besides which, I'm fairly sure the Playboy Club never had a location in Utah.
