Re: Hunter's Hunt part 2
I like Fleur's necklace. Does it have any 'deeper meaning' in the FE world? (Have we already discussed pets in the "Random FE Universe Questions!" topic? I forget...) Do they keep animal pets in FE? I suppose they could keep unevolved, domesticated versions of cats, dogs, etc., much as we might do with monkeys.

I checked the archives. Part 1 was when Hunter went on that job hunt.
And Fleur looks intriguing! I love her name, too. I have a feeling it suits her quite well.

Thank you Cutekitty.
So then, his first hunt was for a job, spurred on by his concerned mother. I wonder if this time will still be for a job, or something (Someone) else? Hmmmmm.
Also We need to deduce What species Fleur is. So far we have what appears to be Canine, and a Name that begins with "F", but to be honest I am kind of mystified. Probably because I am at work and my brain is frazzled.

I went looking through f breed names. I'm thinking she's a flat-coated retriever, due to blonde, silky, and not-very-poofy fur.

Good guess! Unfortunately that's not it ^^; I'll give a hint: her name is a clue about her breed - not only the first letter (which is a bit of a cheat to be honest), but the entire name.

OK, there's Hunter and Luke, but I don't recall the third one. Is he new or have we seen him somewhere?

Yes, but Bird Edgeworth is so much better

Serve ginger ale or root beer in tankards. Whenever we ate at Ruby Tuesday's when I was a kid, I always felt grown-up when they served my root beer foaming in a icy beer mug.

Okay I think, and I'm sorry if I offend anyone but that collar makes her like a slut, I'm sorry but if I offended anyone I'm sorry. It just seems like collars would be used like that. I had 4 out of seven of my pacifist friends agree, 3 of them using the same word. I thought I shall just put it out there .......

Re: Hunter's Hunt part 2
I don't think it's the collar, in particular, that has you reacting this way. This is the first (to my knowledge) time that a character has warn heavy/noticeable makeup. While they don't work on the same levels, both the makup and the collar trigger a "this is sexual" response.
The makeup: heavy and noticeable use of makeup has fallen into the stereotype of a woman who is trying too hard to be attractive and, thus, likely to try too hard physically as well. In reality this isn't always the case, but a generally agreed upon point is that the best makeup is the makeup observers don't notice. A slight inversion to this is the Beauty Spot or Mark, although this can easily be 'too much' as it hasn't been heavily in vogue since the 1700's (Marilyn Monroe not withstanding) and only seems to work well when the rest of the makeup doesn't also stand out.
The collar: Within the Real World, pet collars worn by people generally have a sexual connotation and, to be fair, they earned it. However, rather than a statement of promiscuity, it's actually a statement of monogamy. A complete explanation would require delving into personal bedroom tastes more than I should probably get into here on the public forum though I will say it has to do with being a pet collar and is similar in nature to hanging handcuffs or a rope from your car's rear-view mirror. And that is completely ignoring what the Furry Fandom has done with it. Of course, the question of pets in FE is a bit fuzzy and, aside from an early one-off joke, not touched on (even in the Questions thread). I thought the question had come up of if wearing a collar held the same implications/connotations in FE as it does in the Real World, but nothing came up on the forums when I searched.
That said, I don't find Fleur to be "slutty". Seeing as I only have a single image to go on, I'm probably way off base, but she seems the type to genuinely believe heavy makeup is essential to being attractive and presentable. Without context, I can't make any judgements on the collar because that could go SO many different ways.
Speaking of the collar, I think the buckle is facing backwards.

I agree to your statement, but I wouldn't find her to have that type of vibe either, I have only seen that picture about her. I not judging, but making a small insight to the appearance of the character.
On a different note I have located
the perfect response to anything: That's what the government wants you to think.

Well, um, look at me. Collars seem to have so many meanings in furry fandom, an easy explanation is just fashion. It's what collars are used for on pets, and I've seen plenty of girls wear them really for fashion reasons. Fashion can be seen as sexual in ways that it's done, from mini skirts to low cut tops to Vikki's dress, that the connection there is easy to make. From fur style to make-up, that seems to be what's being gone for.

So true LadyKaden. Also though, when I look at Miss Fleur's Collar <I'm old> I am reminded of the Cameos worn by women on choker necklaces </Old dude> and the ribbons used as chokers by Goth girls. Hmm, Could Miss Fleur have a human doppelganger in the "Perky Goth" world???
Of course in a "Furry" World that would translate to a collar. (maybe with a dog tag?) No one thought those types of jewelry were overly sexy or anything. For example:
I think it can be Dignified, but as always we can wait for more of her character to be revealed, and that's just my take on it.

Re: Hunter's Hunt part 2
Well, my rant was on collars specifically, and did not include things like chokers or ribbons. Despite the similar fit and placement, a collar is significantly different than a piece worn for decoration. I'm going with 'collar' for Fleur because of the distinctive buckle not normally found on decorative neck pieces.

Re: Hunter's Hunt part 2
I used to wear a dog collar, and a mohawk when I was a teenager. This was while listening to too much Dead Kennedys, Ministry, Liabach, and the like. I wonder if there would be a different reaction if it were a male character?
