Ellen-Natalie; you did a nice job of making that look like a very young Ronnie,
and not just another genric baby bunny girl!

Little Ronnie is so cute... and so small and upset.
Big Ronnie looks ready to either explode or bite through her tongue until it bleeds.
It's a powerful juxtaposition. I'm really liking the setup for this arc--looking forward to seeing where it goes!

diabeties

Post  THE COLONEL on Fri Oct 20, 2017 6:56 pm

Fortunately I do not need to use Insulin yet...diet and meds  are keeping me in the 100--200 range, mostly around 120.  However Ronnies' reaction is very similar to my daughters' when I was diagnosed .  Of course, that went with the quad CABG that was the result of the 10 days that I will never forget. That is the major reason that I do not drive trucks anymore.  Lost my CDL.  Might be able to get it back but really don't want to put up with the hassles that go with it these days. Though I do still miss it, a little.  This story will, I hope, fill in a lot more background on our favorite bunny rabbit. This may explain a lot , but how much will the girls get to know, in the future?  THE COLONEL:) Smile Smile

BTW Daddy probably should cut down on the Caffeine too. WCJ

Mr Edd    It's not the end of the world.  Following the Docs' instructions and keeping up with the meds and diet usually works well.  If you need to use Insulin, be very religious about you diet and your sugar levels.,  It's a pain, but doable.  I have been fortunate in that meds and diet work for me.  At 70 I am doing as well as could be wished.  More power to you and God bless.  THE COLONEL

That sucks, Ed - so sorry! But Colonel is right - there's been a lot of progress made in how to manage diabetes, and doing so will help you feel a lot better in the long run. <3

Sooo many things to reply to...  ;-)

Saw the little bunny girl's face and immediately thought of Abby Schuto from the NCIS tv show.  :-)
Just the fact that Mama bunny introduced herself to a fast-food cashier says something's going on here!
And, yeah, I liked the bunny slippers too; and that off-screen "Thunk!" made such an interesting sound
in my head.  :-)

Thanks, Colonel and Ellen-Natalie!  This is going to be a -royal- pain though.  Added to other problems,
I'm not going to be able to eat anything but small salads!  Doctor announced way-too-high cholesterol
at the same time as the diabetes, and he was already having me cut back on meats and beans due to
high uric acid causing -several- kidney stones now and quite possibly gout in the future.  He suggested
the easiest thing to do would be to become a vegetarian!  NOT sure I could do that!  Besides; don't
vegetarians eat -beans- to get a lot of their protein??  Rolling Eyes And my all-time favorite food is Dead Cow!  Crying or Very sad  Rolling Eyes  Laughing

Is it just me or is Betty expecting something particular out of this interaction?

Mr. Ed: It's interesting that your doctor recommended vegetarianism. I've been a vegetarian since the eighth grade, but the dietary shift wasn't motivated by health reasons. I get the majority of my protein from dairy products (a gallon of milk a week... plus cheese, eggs, and yogurt drinks, and sometimes ice cream) and peanut butter, though I do sometimes eat dishes such as chickpea and sweet potato curry or a bean-based stew. Egg yolk, peanut butter, and whole milk wouldn't be good for your cholesterol, but egg whites and skim milk might work for you. Frozen grapes are also delicious. They taste like sherbert or ice pops. My inbox is open if you want to discuss food more.

Good luck! That does sound like a royal pain and I'm sorry you have to deal with all of that, but I'm cheering you on and wishing you good health.
