It seems that the fellow in the next compartment has keeled over, much like poor Wallace from Page 33. Yay, another extra break period while the EMT's take away the stiff care of the staffer.

There's always a bigger knife...
Re: FE Page 142
Hey, it's not the size of the knife, it's how you use it.

No bet: "black widows" abound.
Wouldn't doubt that, Kanna172003. Knives leave obvious stab wounds, whereas poison can be difficult to detect. Strychnine, thallium and curare don't appear in a medical examiner's usual toxicology screening; each one requires a specific test to be detected. That mouse girl poisoned his coffee?

Re: FE Page 142
Strychnine doesn't really need a test as the condition of the body is the main indicator of such poisoning. Thallium and curare are not readily obtainable without a considerable paper trail. Helped someone write a murder mystery play once and researched a lot of poisons. So no I am not a psycho-killer. Poison as a method of murder is pretty detectable any more and has too many chances of going wrong or worse backfiring on you. Just say no to poison.

Strychnine, although easy to harvest can be treated and survived..
if it were me, I'd opt for a more painful and sudden poison like this nasty bugger, take a good look at it and AVOID IT at all costs as it grows naturally and wild all over america. It has three strikes with the "Do not eat this" rules I have, it has milky white sap, bitter tasting stems, Three or more leaves on the stem..
Cicuta virosa
Upon consumption, both in humans and other species, the symptoms of poisoning are mainly characterized by generalized seizures. The onset of symptoms following ingestion may be as soon as 15 minutes post ingestion. Initial symptoms reported may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, tremors, confusion, weakness, dizziness, and drowsiness; although the rapid onset of seizure activity may be the first sign presenting following poisoning. Seizures are usually described as clonic or tonic–clonic. Complications of ongoing seizure activity include increased body temperature, decreases in the pH of the blood (metabolic acidosis), swelling in the brain, blood coagulation disorders, muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis), and kidney failure. Additional neurological symptoms may include hallucinations, delirium, tingling, pricking, or numbness of a person's skin, dilated pupils, and coma. Cardiovascular symptoms include alternating slow or fast heart rate and alternating low and high blood pressure. Other cardiac effects may include ECG abnormalities such as widening of the PR interval, supraventricular tachycardia, and ventricular fibrillation. Symptoms of excess salivation, wheezing, respiratory distress, and absence of breathing have also been reported.
Deaths usually occur from respiratory failure or ventricular fibrillation secondary to ongoing seizure activity; fatalities have occurred within a few hours of ingestion. Poisoned people who recover usually regain consciousness and seizures cease within 24 to 48 hours of poisoning, although seizures may persist for up to 96 hours. There are occasional long-term effects such as retrograde amnesia of the events leading to intoxication and the intoxication itself. Other ongoing mild effects may include restlessness, muscle weakness, twitching, and anxiety. Complete resolution of symptoms may take a number of days or, in some cases, these ongoing symptoms may persist for months after poisoning.
Treatment is a highly unpleasant and almost as deadly of a process to undue the poisoning.... There was an episode of house that featured this happening to some poor bloke, Season 6, ep 18 "Knight falls"
Why are we assuming a mouse who carries a big knife to protect herself is a potential culpret of the guys death?
