New Registration Complications Empty New Registration Complications

Post  Ellen-Natalie Sat Nov 15, 2014 12:09 pm

Due to a recent "troll" raid, I modified the new registrations to be Admin approved instead of User approved. Unfortunately, since then I've received messages from people waiting to be approved to join the forum, but have received any notification of new users to approve. I'm looking into what's causing this, (already confirmed my email is set as the admin email and the settings in the admin panel are correct, trying to research what else may be the cause.) and will post updates on progress as I find them.

New Registration Complications Empty Progress Update

Post  Ellen-Natalie Mon Nov 17, 2014 11:46 pm

Good news: the registrations are being sent to an admin email.
Bad news: it's an email I don't have access to - it belongs to the person who helped me set up these forums. Currently working to fix this

Steve, the awesome guy who helped originally set up these forums, is trying out a new adjustment of the admin permissions to see if that helps. If it doesn't, we do have a backup plan.

For those who have been waiting to be approved, I sincerely apologize, and promise we are working to fix this as soon as we can!

Speaking of the forums... When (not "if"!) your Patreon hits $500 and the site gets remodeled, will that include dedicated forums as well? And if so, what happens to these ones?

That would explain the recent downtime...

At this point, my website remodel plan does not involve moving the official forums - just linking back to these ones the same way the current website does.

New Registration Complications Empty Just following up

Post  Ellen-Natalie Sat Mar 07, 2015 8:41 am

I'm 95% certain the registration issue has been fixed - admissions seem to go through, and I haven't been getting complaints from people trying to set up accounts. My only doubts are from the lack of new introductions lately. *laugh* Hopefully that'll change as more people learn they can set up an account, but if you know anyone still having difficulty with this please let me know.
