Job Opportunity Conundrum

I'll make this short because I'm on my phone at the moment..
I just heard about a job opportunity at my work and I'm not sure if I should take it. One of our overnight drivers is leaving and I'm next in line if I want it.
The good: I get a Class A licence with haz-mat certification and a decent raise over my current pay.
The bad: It is overnight work which will cause problems with my ladyfriend who has problems sleeping if I'm not around.
Thoughts? We are living pretty hand-to-mouth right now and the extra income could make a big difference but are the downsides worth it?
