Re: Alice's Antipathy
I can see most of these being a self-conscious teen misinterpreting statements, which I'm thinking all came from Diana.
1. "Of course he'll notice you, with a bold statement like that."
This could be a real compliment. It's a good outfit, even with the mixing of patterns, and Diana doesn't seem like one to shrug off good clothing sense. The only time we see her talk down to anyone's fashion sense is when she was put on edge and commented about Alice and her friends' shoes all being the same.
2. "She looks like a disaster."
Alice was put on edge herself with her thoughts on the meaning of the last comment. She was probably visibly upset, which can be described as a "disaster," which would make things all the worse when being overly thought on.
3. "You need someone who can make you look good."
Having seen Louis now, this is probably a non-romantic make over comment.

Ooooh this is getting good! "True nature" awesome foreshadowing of the epic High School drama battle that I hope ensues! (wait.. hoping for epic drama? What is MY true nature? )

Hmmm, if Louis heard that he'd probably say the same thing he did to Diana when she called Alice evil.

I'm not getting the lunch part. Is she upset that Diana is eating the same lunch? Also, is this implying that the outfit Alice was wearing last page was Diana's design that she convinced Alice to wear? If so, it does sound like that Diana deliberately humiliated her.
EDIT: Oh, never mind. I thought that Alice's friends were speaking to her but Alice is referring to Louis. I'm slow

Well, just because Diana is a more frequent character does not make her innocent.

Something completely off topic for the current conversation, but didn't we see the girl standing next to Diana at the yard sale?

Well, the guy at the register looks like Ms. Pudelhund's new tenant.

You're right! Sorry I didn't mention sooner - but both patron OCs Bridger Bunny and Calista appear on this page

Hmm, I just noticed that Alice and her friends are all canines.... Funny that since they are all so very "Catty"!

I think both parties are going to end up guilty. They both see themselves as the "good" one and the other as the "bad" one. I don't think either of them intends to be so catty but unless they talk it out, they won't get to the bottom of this. It's possible though that they may end up like Mariah and Sarah and coming to an understanding.

Re: Alice's Antipathy
I feel now that this is not Diana's fault at all. Diana could rock the look Alice had, but Alice couldn't sell it, or Alice never told Diana the boy she was interested in. Diana doesn't come across as someone who would intentionally screw someone over, yet Alice doesn't have the same thoughts as Diana. She believes herself a heroine, and sees her petty revenge as her "defeating a villain." However, we know she's shallow at best.

If you remember, Diana acted in almost the exact same way when Alice ruined the chance to sell her newest outfit. I really don't think there is a right or wrong party.

Re: Alice's Antipathy
Kanna, I think Diana was trying to help her legitimately, but the failure came from Alice's own insecurities. Alice, of course, saw it as an act of sabotage, and is trying to "protect" people from Diana. Diana has what Alice wants, and Alice wants to hurt Diana back. Of course, she could never admit it to herself, hence the "heroine" image.

And now to see if Alice grabs the opportunity to spend extra time with Louis by offering to help tutor him on the roll...

I feel sorry for Alice. I don't think she's really a bad person, just someone whom life has kicked in the rear one too many times. You have to remember something: Everyone is the protagonist/hero in their own mind.

Re: Alice's Antipathy
There is no problem with having a healthy mental image. The problem with Alice is that she can do no wrong in her own eyes. She thinks recycling (something that more and more waste management centers are doing on their own) is caring for the planet. She cannot admit that she might be jealous of Diana, only paint her in a negative light. Alice is going to get hurt really bad emotionally by the end of this, when Louis "fails" to fall for the "heroine" that she thinks she is, and then shift blame to Diana. If one cannot see one's flaws, one cannot move on.

I'm not saying she is blameless but I don't see how Diana is all that different. Diana really does come off as very smug to me and is used to getting her way, like when she took her mom's good yarn and had that triumphant look on her face when Brian said he didn't have time to lecture her about the yarn before calling for their mom. Plus she was completely unapologetic when she took those pencils that Brian bought for Dawn to make her dress and basically threw a crying tantrum when it didn't win. Like I said, I don't believe Alice is a saint or anything but I don't think Diana is any better.
