Old-timey Newb... Empty Old-timey Newb...

I draw (a bit), and I Sculpt (a bit), and so I thought I'd share a bit. Very Happy
Most of this is from an Illustrated Novel I have been working on for years.
It is a Furry story, and does have many Mormon themes throughout.
(Although it's more a therapy for myself than for publication. LOL)

Hopefully these won't break anyone's Monitors... >////>

I am almost (but not quite) as artistically inclined as an epileptic chimpanzee at a rave, but I'll see what I can do.

The one thing that jumps out at me is the anatomy: your proportions seem a bit off. For example, in this one, the lower right arm is bigger than the upper and his head is off-center. Something that I have heard helps is to get a posing mannequin, but have not tried this, myself.

Other than that, it's pretty good. A lot of people have trouble getting definition out of all-black objects (like his hands and holster) but you're doing pretty well there.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the Critiques! Smile
I have always seemed to have trouble with proportions, it's quite true.
I can cartoon up a storm, but when it comes to semi-realistic art I quite often fail.
I have recently (for the past 4 1/2 years) went back to school, but for computers. (For my day job, which has been tough raising my kids working full time and school Razz)
that being said I recently came across an online art course that seems to be quite good. (and it's discounted, I'm cheap...)
so when I finally get my degree, I will be able to take this course more seriously and see if it can help an old aspiring artist like me Very Happy

Here is the link to the course if anyone is interested.

More recently I did buy an APP for my tablet, and have tried to learn to use digital means for art.
Here is a sketch I drew of the old testament prophet Noah. (Again Proportions Razz LOL)
Also there are a few others I have done with it, but I really need to learn to color, and shade better with everything else.

P.S. I have an Android Nexus 7 and the APP is called "Autodesk Sketch Pro"
