Re: Inspections Arc
Oh, cleaning INSPECTION. I thought the 3 needed to get a flea bath or get deloused or something...
Re: Inspections Arc
AH. So THAT'S what it is. Guess they can't leave all those dishes piled up in the sink, now, can they?

Every time my apartment passes cleaning checks, we each get a candy bar.

Random question! If it's spring... should the trees have red/orange leaves on them?
Anyways... So far as I've seen, the girls tend to lead fairly tidy lives, so hopefully this won't be too painful. Of course there's the 'hide all the private stuff you don't others to see' bit. Maybe we're going to get a small bit of Ronnie's back story?

I do usually try to have the scenery match the current season outside my window, but when this arc was written it was necessary for it to still be fall in the FE universe. Strangely enough though, the latest fall and spring I've seen are looking very similar.
Re: Inspections Arc
Love the view in panel two. :-)
And, I'm surprised Dawn lets the apartment get messy enough for them to worry about the inspection. ;-)
Admittedly these are a bit much, but there are some trees that bud in red/pink/purple before the leaves appear. (hint: Redbuds and Redtips. Well; redtips actually have red-tipped leaves. :-))

Re: Inspections Arc
Yep. It is time for apartment inspections. Had ours yesterday morning. Luckily, we passed. Well....we passed with the exception of my roommate. He scrubbed the floors, but the inspector lady didn't pass him. She told him to use Comet and to get down on his hands and knees and scrub. When he pulled out the Comet and rag, she got down to show him, and couldn't manage to get the stain up herself (it's been there and been really stubborn for a while). She still failed him. Reinspect on Monday!

Re: Inspections Arc
So... did anyone else notice that Ms. Natalie managed to use the exact color grey for the floors/ceiling of the hallway as Smackjeeves uses for their page background?

Holy crap! I totally didn't notice that!

And if the bureaucrat is as bureaucratic as I think he/she will be, he/she will fine them for not cleaning the balcony.
Re: Inspections Arc
I should imagine there would be a rather well established lint roller industry.

Not to be crude or anything, but that world sounds like a hellish place for people with pet allergies XD

What I want to know is what on earth does Dawn do in the Bathroom to Shed so much? Isn't she a short-haired animal, anyway? Is she shaving? Is it just by default because Ronnie spends all the time in the Kitchen?
There is a mystery here!

Dawn strikes me as being the one who does the most grooming since she is always so neatly dressed and everything so naturally she would be the one to spend the most time in the bathroom. Ronnie strikes me as the type to go through the fridge tossing out anything unhealthy and perhaps making new healthy recipes so it seems logical that she spends a lot of time in the kitchen, while Cat is the type to curl up in the den reading, studying, and watching anime.

...So, that's what hyperventilating is. That's different.
I should explain. When making FE pages, I work from two scripts-the first draft, which is a handwritten collection of arc summaries, ideas, and chunks of script I want to use. This helps me keep track of the overall FE comic, and the character arcs rotate evenly. The second, a detailed typed script. This one is the fleshed out arcs, showing where they divide into different pages. Sometimes these two scripts are the same, other times they differ from each other, and the better version is used in the comic. This arc, however...the written script called for Ronnie cleaning the kitchen and Dawn cleaning the bathroom, while the typed script called for their chores to be switched. (Poor Cat, always stuck with the sitting room.)
When drawing the next few pages of FE, I was working from the typed script. When typing in the text for the latest page, however, I was working from the written script. I didn't even notice until Sarah and Kanna pointed it out. Maybe hyperventilating was over reacting, but it was still a shock. ^^; Anyway, since I'd rather retype dialog than redraw pages, text has been altered so the next page of FE will make sense. But Kanna's theories are still excellent! ~

And this, goys and birls, is one of the reasons FE is so awesome! I find behind-the-scenes stuff like this to be far more fascinating than I probably should.

Exactly, Latrans! Same holds for seeing the unfinished art. I like to see what it took to get there. Sometimes it even gives me clues for my own drawing!Latrans wrote:Ellen-Natalie wrote:Lots of interesting words and you should go read them.

Eep! I'm sorry! I have a tendency to think all at once, and it's hard to catch up to my brain, because, you know.... it doesn't need to breath.
I just was excited to think of how this division of chores came about, given the last line of dialogue. That's all. That, and the implications of what kind of behavior or secrets that Dawn might have.
... although maybe because I'm a little dense, I missed that that it was suppose to be a joking poke at Cat.

Aw, Sarah-you didn't do anything wrong. I was freaking out about my own mistakes ^^ Besides, if you hadn't said anything, people would wonder why Dawn and Ronnie suddenly switched chores in the next page. And I love reading yours and and other readers' theories and opinions about FE!
