FE Page 224
FINALLY, I can get this guy into the comics. He really is at all the previous interviews-special invisible points to those who can spot him.
EDIT: Luke's sleeve mysteriously rolled up in the last two panels. That's fixed now ^^;

So do people at the call center only die when there are fresh newbies around to find them, or does it just happen often enough that it's a statistical probability that a fresh newbie will find one of them?

Personally, my money's on the latter. That's probably why the place appears to hire newbies relatively frequently too.
*blink* Hey, new character! Cool! ...For some reason, his expression reminds me of Ronnie; his eyes are sort of half-lidded, like he's unamused and had a long day. And a pirate-themed restaurant sounds awesome... I take it we'll be seeing plenty of both it and Luke in the future?

Ooh, that sounds fun! Let's see... *goes to look* On the previous page, he's the one who discovers the guy who's apparently dead. Before that, he's talking to the giraffe. And before that, it looks like he's walking past and about to leave in the left middle panel where the serious-business sheep is questioning Hunter about previous job responsibilities.

Well I'll be darned
I never noticed that. I guess my eyes are not so great, even if I did spot Dawn.

There's something about this Luke. A certain...je ne sais quoi...that says to me that this guy is a queen. Hilarious times ahead for Hunter.

I think Cutekitty's closer to the mark on Luke. He looks to me like maybe he's had a rough day, and possibly he has other troubles on his mind too. Does look like an interesting character; and I really like his green eyes.
Ellen-Natalie: Your comment about "finally" getting Luke into the comic reminds me of Chris Paulsen with his 'Precocious' comic. Early on a character made a joke about someone who would not be introduced for another couple of months. :-) :-) :-)

I think that dying on the job at the call center is a running gag. One actual fatality on Dawn's first day there, one near-miss on Dawn's left, and possibly another body here. This might be a parallel to Scott Adams' Dilbert comic of 17 April 2001.
Further, I'm not seeing anything beyond Hunter and Luke are both out job hunting as a least-worst option. There are only so many starter-class jobs available in the area, so common destinations are certainly feasible. Right now, I'm regarding Luke as a "same boat" character, someone with whom Hunter can commiserate.

I'm mostly in agreement with Bunny on this one, but 'The Look' in panel 6 makes me suspicious...

Don't forget the comic run between those two.
