Comic Detour: Feedback (page 220)

Hmm.. I don't remember that pose. Very 'heroic' looking. Is that a subtle hint to Cat's thinking
as concerns Hunter??
And that fig-leaf actually kinda looks like a face mask. I like the teacher's commenting too.

She could iron it, or run it through a laser printer...

Also, that's the largest fig leaf I've ever seen...you'd think she'd at least show the sides of the hips Very Happy

On the positive side, I'm noticing that Cat has used the Ball-And-Sausage method of determining her figure's substructure. This is a method used by many accomplished artists, including those in the comic book media. Further, a slightly enlarged head is often encouraged in public media arts, as a larger head increases the face space on the character, making it easier to clearly depict emotions on that character.

As an aside: although we've been told that it's a fig leaf that Cat drew on her figure, it bears resemblance to a maple leaf. And the maple leaf is the marquee symbol on the Canadian flag. When hung stem up and apex down, as shown, this is a sign of distress, similar to an S.O.S. In fact, hanging any nation's flag upside down is a sign of distress. Rather apropos for Cat in this case.

I wonder how planned things like that are: How much symbolism is conscious an how much unconscious? I feel a philosophical discussion coming on...
