Valentines day dilemma

Post  LeonMcBane on Tue Feb 14, 2012 11:39 am

Oh bother, I've gone and got myself 2 possible valentines,

it all started a few weeks ago when I met these two girls: Sarah and Haley.
I got to know Sarah first from the "Mormon Furs" page on Facebook. We've had fun hanging out, talking, going to the movies and honestly just having fun. She's a great person to be around (not to mention the bonus of being able to be my furry self around her)
On the flip side, there's Haley: I met her in My Book of Mormon class. One of my friends Brittani introduced me to her. Haley's a little more mature and serious about things. It was a little more nerve wracking at first because she was a little more serious about a relationship sort of thing. But over this weekend, we had some time alone (Strictly remembering the Honor code of course) to talk. It was the first time I've cuddled with someone, so my initial fears of (is she coming on too strong) are subsiding.
I've bought presents for the two of them and I like both, but I am not sure how to manage (and I don't want to make a decision without hurting the other *even though they don't know about each other*). Any advice, opinions or ideas would certainly be appreciated.
PS: I take things very slowly when It comes to this.

Doesn't seem like too much of a problem, right now. You're going slow, not trying to lead anyone on. As time goes on, if you want things to get more serious, you can re-evaluate. For now, just enjoy the friendships you have.

Okay. My honest advice here is to tell them about each other. The sooner you do it, the easier it will be. The fact that you've gotten this far means they're going to be hurt. But a small cut now will save you a major amputation later.

Most importantly, be honest and understanding regardless of their reactions.

I agree with Latrans. It will hurt way more later than it would now.

Double good news,

So, I was pretty worried earlier today (as you can tell) about what I should do. I ended up buying both of them Valentine's day gifts (small things like a stuffed bear and the other a little necklace) and was going to deliver them at different times to each. I went to Devotional and there Sarah found me. We sat together and watched devotional which *coincidentally* was on relationships.
I had the feeling that both Sarah and I were doing our part to create a relationship. I had gone over to her house and she over to mine, that sort of thing. I had been thinking over that feeling while at her house after devotional. I asked her if she would be my valentine/girlfriend and she said she would. That's how she and I got together.
After that, I was worried about Haley: how was I going to tell her without her being crushed? Later in the evening, Haley and I went for a walk. I asked how she felt so far about what we had going on. She enjoyed it. I held her hand with mine in my jacket pocket and we walked. She was catching on and mentioned how she was talking to Sarah a while ago. She knew that Sarah liked me. "I had a feeling" she said "but I'm o.k. with it.". I told her how Sarah and I had met a few weeks before I knew her and that something was going on. she was very calm about it all, almost as if she was expecting it to go this way. I gave her the necklace, which she enjoyed. She said that we could still be friends.
And so, That is how I have a Girlfriend and kept a friend. *and they all lived, happily ever-after*(I hope)

That little bit where Haley said she had been talking to Sarah earlier is rather important to note. Basically, if you *hadn't* brought up the subject, you'd have put yourself in some seriously hot water with both the girls since they'd have known you were hiding your relationship with each from the other. However, because you had the respect to bring it to them before it became an issue, you've strengthened that bond of trust both between a potential significant other and a new friend.

This, ladies and gentlemen is a wonderful example of how to hobble the Drama Llama! Kudos to you, Mr. Claw. Cool

Thank-you for your comment Latrans. I hate drama and would personally avoid it if I can. Also thanks to Ellen and Kitten for your comments. I guess going to devotional every week actually IS good for you (though sometimes in the way you least expect it)
