I'm constantly waiting for her arms to freeze off. I've worn vests before and the only time I can make them work for me is under a jacket. Laughing

So, when handling large objects, Dawn uses a "thumb", or the "palm" of her hoof?

It depends what the object is-some can be balanced easily on the heel, other times the dewclaws can move slightly to get a better grip. (Though that's usually a practice reserved for holding something flat or flimsy, like sheets of paper.)
I really gotta draw diagrams of this sometime.~

That might not be necessary. There are some cartoon characters which lack fingers or thumbs that can manipulate objects nonetheless. The Powerpuff Girls have no fingers and no thumbs, but they grasp objects just fine. Boris the goose from Balto has only his wings' pinfeathers, but that doesn't stop him from doing "handy" things. Homestar Runner has no arms, but this has no effect on anything else around him. Chalk it up to Invisible Anatomy, and call it a day. Fair warning: if you let yourself get bogged down in details, your plotlines will grind to a snail's pace. This has happened with several web comics which suffered Schedule Slip: an artist's skills and technique improved to the point where 99% of the effort went into drawing the panels, and only 1% went into planning them.

I see that you're sticking closer to real deer anatomy than, say, the comic "A Doemain of Our Own", where the cervines had their hooves "split" into fingers. The comic "Deer Me" forgoes hooves and just gives cervines humanoid hands.

I mention this because I'm writing a story with a furry/humanoid deer and I'm debating about what type of "hands" to give the deer.
